How o Convert FAT 32 Format Into NTFS Without Loosing Data

how to convert FAT 32 format into NTFS without losing data

You may have experienced this problem we face,
when a pen drive is in the format of FAT 32 we
cant copy too large files to the pen drive , it's
because of the format is FAT 32.
But it's such a easy thing to format the pen and
convert the the current format into NTFS. But the
problem is you will lose all the data inside the pen.

As a result for that problem I'm going to tell you about how to convert FAT 32 format into NTFS without loosing any data.

So lets see how to do this. You can use this method to any device like hard drive, pen drive etc. For a example I'll take pen drive.

1) First go to my computer and see in which letter the pen drive is named by the computer.Which means if you connect your pen drive to a USB port,in the My Computer will display like this Apple(J:)

(think that I've named my pen drive as "Apple") . So what you have to notice is this letter "J"  which is inside the brackets.
(In another way you know that the hard disk drive partitions are named as Local Disk (C:) ,Local Disk (D:) ,you can see the C,D letters of that partitions, so just look and see the in which letter the pen drive is indicated )

2) Now you have to open Command Prompt. In windows 7 click on "Start" and Type "cmd" in the text box without inverted commas. If you are using Windows XP,then Click on "Start" and click on "Run" in the start menu, then type "cmd" and press Enter.

3) then type this in the command prompt.
chkdsk h: /f  ( replace the letter h in red with letter you pen drive is indicated)

4) Ok now press enter. So it wi;; fix the errors if there are some errors in the pen drive

5) Then again type this in the command prompt
H:/FS:NTFS (Replace the letter H in red with the letter your pen drive is indicated in My Computer)

6) Now the Command Prompt will start the conversion process and after it finished it will display " Conversation Was Successful"

That's all we are done! But you have to remember this trick will only work for Windows 7, Windows 8 , Windows Vista and Windows XP only. Also though we can convert FAT 32 into NTFS using this method it wont work if you are going to convert NTFS into FAT 32.
